Christmas Day!
Oh hey! Surprise! Maybe it's not a surprise that I'm
able to email you today but I had no idea until this morning.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
The last two days have been great. Yesterday it
finally started to feel like Christmas. Even though we've been singing the same
10 hymns over and over again for about a month. ;)
On Saturday we chose out names for Secret Santa in our
district. I got this Elder Trotter. He doesn't have any pictures of his
family. Just one Christmas card from his sister and her husband. It's on the
front page of his photo album and then you turn the page and there's nothing
else. It's become quite a joke among us. So on Sunday I made Nametags for all
his family members (after smoothly getting their names out of him) and then on
Monday, our teacher pulled him out of class and we made a mad dash to take
pictures. I'll send a few of them after this because they are so funny. To us
anyway. I stole his photo album and put them in it. :)
Our teacher is awesome. She made us the Plan of
Salvation little cut out laminated things which was so awesome! She also made
some other things for us that will not be included on here so she won't get in
trouble, but it was so great. :) Then we went outside and took the pictures
attached. Aren't they great!? The one in the long teal skirt is our teacher.
I was one of the angels in the christmas program for
the whole MTC that night when we reinacted the Nativity. They just asked
another girl in our district to get a group together. I ended up being part of
a duet on the first verse until the other girls joined in/ What? Only because
the other girls were doing another song so they wanted me to have a moment in
the spotlight or something like that. I didn't bomb it- and that's the most
importnat part right? Then we watched the old "A Christmas Carol."
Today feels like Christmas because it snowed a lot
yesterday, everyone is dressed in green and red, and everyone keeps shouting
Merry Christmas! We did secret santa after breakfast because no one could wait-
everyone was too excited about it. Elder Trotter loved it- but I think everyone
else did more. He could not figure out when we would've taken them all. So
fun. I got a journal from the bookstore. And then all the Elders sang to us a
song they wrote. It was fun.
Elder Nelson spoke to us this morning. His talk was
good, but the more important part was that I CALLED IT! I was so sure it would
be him. His wife compared the gifts of the spirit to a gift card and that was
the part that I think will stick with me most. She said to pray for gifts of
the spirit that match your weaknesses. Like if you get discouraged easily, pray
for persistance. It was really meaningful. Elder Nelson talked about safety in
the mission field. It was good- the lady in front of me was a journalist so
there will be something in the news about it and some pictures too! One note-
he talked about being careful about rumors around the church and the rumors
about getting called to China are 100% FALSE. So there you have it. There is
no getting called to Taiwan and then getting transferred after a year.
Tonight we have a talent show and we get to watch "It's
a Wonderful Life!"
Thank you to Aunt Marica for the package! It was nice
to have something to open for Christmas! My family should be thanking you for
saving their bottoms. :)
Lastly, I just want to bear my testimony of the most
important part of Christmas. I know that Jesus Christ lives. I am forever
greatful for His atonement and for overcoming death for us. I know that He was
the son of God. Se que Jesuscristo es mi salvador y redentor. I know that He
is here with me, holding me up. And I know these things through the power of
the Holy Ghost.
I love you all!
