This was a good and really stressfull week! Jacquelin had to move out of her house to get baptized but was procrastinating a little bit because she couldn´t find a room to rent out. So then God sped up things a little bit and the owner of the house that she was staying in asked for the house back so everyone had to find new places to live. We looked all week but literally could not find anything and it was getting to be a little bit stressfull (Remember how she was going to live with Jessica? Well, Jessica has decided that she doesn´t want any mormons living with her. Bummer. It was kind of hard to hear that especially since she had been a really special investigator). They finally found a place but it was a big house and everyone was going to live together again (The whole reason because Jacqelin has to move out is so that she is not living under the same roof as her ex-partner, regardless of whether or not they are keeping the law of chastity). It was really stressful as we tried to help her decide to not live in that house, even though we had zero other options for her. We called the bishop and every single person we could possibly think of and we had nothing. At chrch on Sunday I got up in front of the Relief Society and pleaded for their prayers so that Jacquie could find a place to live. That afternoon we got really busy and we weren´t able to look for a room but right before we went home at night, we saw a girl from a family we used to teach outside of her door. She lives in a place with a bunch of rooms for rent that accept children but we had already asked if there were rooms available and a lady who lives there told us that there weren´t. We went over to greet Zhaida and a man opened the door. When we looked at him, something said ¨he´s the owner.¨ We asked him if he owned the place and he told us that he did. We asked if he had any rooms for rent and he told us that he had TWO! It was crazy. We went and saw the rooms and called Jacquie and tonight we are going over to (hopefully) finalize the deal. It was a total miracle and a huge testimony to me of the power of combined prayers. Thank you for all your prayers for my investigators, even if you don´t know what their needs are, becase they always help!
I wanted to mention how great members are in lessons. Before in my mission we didn´t work too much to have lessons with member s present, because it´s a lot of work and I didn´t have a testimony of the difference, but lately I have really gained a testimony of it. We have an investigator, Luis, who is engaged to an active member and they have a son together. We have been teaching him for awhile, and always with his fiance, but we were really strggling knowing how to help him. We prayed about it and last Sunday a man that we didn´t know very well because he lives in the elder´s sector stood up and bore his testimony for the first time in his life and talked about how he had been duro (hard hearted kind of). It was like a light went off in our minds, and we asked him to accompany us with Luis. Turns out he has been a HUUUGE help. We can´t help Luis very much because he has fear of a lot of things that we just can´t relate to, but Hermano Mora came and just bore his testimony left and right. The first time he came with us, we showed Elder Bednar´s revelation (light) videos and that combined with H. Mora´s testimony, I think it was the first time Luis TRULY felt the spirit in the lessons we have had with him. It was incredible. We´re still working with him, but Hermano Mora comes with us every time we have a cita with Luis and we plan to have his fiance stay out (her idea) so that he can express openly his concerns. Thank you for all you do to help the missionaries!
The funniest slash worst part of the week: On tuesday we had to go do some visa work for our kids and when we got our number we knew we were going to have to wait about 2 hours or more for our turn. Seeing as it costs money to go home and then come back, we decided to take advantage and go explore a place near the centro. We sat on the beach and enjoyed the morning but there were some people srfing and body boarding. We watched it for awhile until a man saw us and came out of the water and started undressing in front of us! It was the woooorst. We all immediately looked behind us as if there was something super interesting over there. It was terrible but gave us a good laugh.
We are having a ward activity on the 21st (Lehi´s dream) so heopflly that all works out!Jacquelin may or may not be getting baptized this satrday. A lot depends on the room. Prayers are appreciated!Love you all!
