It is so hot here. I am FRIED. This week has been really interesting. We
were only left with one investigator so ít´s been contacting contacting
contacting all week. We also went through a giant list of the members called
the SIMIL and that´s actually where we´ñve have the most success. Sorry- the I
key stcks. We found some amazing investigators here that seem to be really
prepared for the gospel. It´s so nteresting when you knock on someone´s door
and something has just happened in ther lves that has prepared them to recieve
ths gospel. I haven´t really been able to help out n the lessons too much
because I cán´t understand most of what they say, but Hermana VanMeter is
awesome and will repeat back a lot so I know what´s going on. Mostly I´ve just
been bearing testimony but that´s okay. (Hna VM is from Oregon)
´We´ve taught a couple menos activas here and it is super sad. Don´t do
it! It is so easy to put something (time, money, etc) before God but it is
NEVER worth it. Ah!
I love Iquique. I need to take some pictures of our sector to show you but
I can only take pictures on pdays. It´s a pretty big sector so they tell me
which means a LOT of walkng. In the super sun. I can just feel my skin
sizzlng. :) The people live in little houses that are connected to each other.
I had heard about the gates in front of the houses but I didn´t really
understand them before I came here. They´re like 5 feet-ish from the front of
the house so you use a rock of a pen and pound on the gate and shout ¨¨Aloo.¨¨
It´s pretty funny. Everyone tells us we can come back another day. Yeah right.
Haha.
Here are some other intestesting things.
-we can´t drink the water so we have to buy a huge thing of it about every
week.
-It´s true that a lot of the houses don´t have roofs. They´ll be like
cardboard or something to keep out animals but it´s okay because it never
rains.
-there are dogs EVERYWHERE. It was cool and new for like 10 seconds and it
is so so common that it´s super normal now. Some are real cute and some are
really mangly.
-They sing the hymns suuuper slowly in church
-we have a mamita! We eat at her house for lunch every day. She is so
sweet and the food had been great so far.
-the homemade bread here is super cheap and the bread cut like in the
states is super expensive. also, everything in the stores is in bags.
-aaaaaaand..... we get up at 7:30! Isn´t that crazy? Its because nobody
wakes up until like 11 here. We tract until 10:30 or 11 pm. Crazy huh.
Today is pday and we played bball and futball with the zone and got fried.
Then we went down to the playa!! That was cool because you literally never leave
your sector and so i hadn´t seen it yet. So pretty! And we went to the centro.
Dont worry- my sector is not nearly this pretty. :)
I´m happy to be here. It´s exhausting- i´t really is. By 9:30 I am so
tired, but I´m learning and I´m excited to comprendo espanol.
LOVE YOU

We were all online at the same time so we got to ask her a couple of questions...
it´s true' the members love me. our ward is pretty big- 150 ish each week.
Nobody wants to marry me- just make babies with me duh. I just smile at them
because i don´t know what they´re saying (i know its obnoxious though) then
later my comp tells me. Oops. Got my first beso from a man. Yikes. No beans.
Just chicken and rice. and COCA COLA

Also, i tried my frst, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth Coca Cola. It´s
the worst, but give me 6 months and 493275 times drinking it and i´ll love it.
