Hello! How are you! This week was way good! Last monday after I emailed we went to Lluta Valley (pronounced Utah, which totally threw me off for a long time) with a family who were baptized about a year ago. It was super pretty! We didn´t have much time, but we had enough time to get eaten by a bunch of bugs. :)We spent a lot of the week preparing Jacqui for her baptism and helping her move into her new room, but bishop asked us to wait on her baptism for another month to make sure that she is ready for her baptism. It was a little disappointing because it means that one of us won´t be there for her baptism (although the good news is that now she will get baptized with her son!), but the Bishop is a wise man so we´ll just keep helping her to make sure she is 100% converted. She already has goals to go to the temple next year. :)I´m not sure if I mentioned that Daniela (our convert from about a month ago) got a calling! She is now the secretary of the primary and is doing great. We´re still working on helping her not say swear words in front of the kids, but she is progressing so much. A miracle! The big miracle of the week was sunday at church. We had a few investigators that told us they were going the next day and we were really happy about that. But then at 9:30pm, the ward mission leader called and asked me to give a talk the next day. So we left the house we were in and went to a few less active members and investigators that love us but have a hard time going to church and asked them to go too. One of them is the husband of a woman that we have been working with for a while and is recently attending church for the first time in years. The husband, Marcelo, is not a member and is duuuuro. Last sunday we asked for prayers for this sister, Helen, along with prayers for Jacquelin (see last weeks email) and those prayers must have been powerful because when I asked Marcelo to go to church the next day to support his wife and because I was giving a talk and wanted them to be there, he agreed and actually went! It almost made me cry when he and his wife and two of their kids walked in. I know there is still a loooong way for him to go before he opens his heart, but I know how much it meant to Helen to have her whole family there for the first time. Prayers for Marcelo and Helen would be appreciated. We really love that family. Along with Marcelo and Jacqui, we had 4 other investigators at church yesterday, including Fabiola, Jacquelin´s boss, and a friend of a member who Loved chruch. Six overall, which I think is the most I´ve had in my whole mission. The elders had 7, so all in all we had 13 investigators at church and the assistance raised by over 20 people! It was awesome. This weekend the ward will have two baptisms of future Priesthood holders. We are truly seeing many blessings here. That afternoon was the EARTHQUAKE! It was awesome. We had gone to visit Jacquelin and were sitting on her bed talking about how her eye fell out (have I ever mentioned that she only has one eye?) and everything started moving around. I put my hands up in the air like a roller coaster and yelled ¨woooohooooo!¨ which was good because I think if I hadn´t they would have died of fear. Latins are totally terrified of temblors and it makes me laugh. AFterwards we went to another lesson and I put the cell phone on silent and when we got out we had 10 missed calls. Everyone was making sure we were okay and then telling us that we had to get back right then because 4 sisters who were in the tsunami zone were coming to stay with us. So last night we had a lot of fun and got very little sleep because we only had 4 mattresses and 8 misisonaries. I ended up being on the floor at about 5am because our makeshift suitcase bed was the worst. Anyway, this week wasgreat. I hope you are all doing well! I read the Jesus the Christ chapters on the judgement and death of the Savior this week and was blown away and learned to appreciate my Redeemer so, so much more.I love you all!
