Family!
I hope everyone is having fun in the snow, London,
with walking children and crawling babies. Congratuations!
Life
is good down here in Iquique. We had a couple intense battles with cockroaches
that were so hilarious. Luckily we have Hna. Gorge who takes care of them
all for us.
We had a cool experience this week where we had a morning
FULL of people to visit and six people fell through in a row. Finally we
decided to go to the hospital to visit some family members of one of our
investigators because ¨they aren´t going anywhere.¨ Haha. We went and
visited one of them and it was nice and then we went to visit another and while
we were walking there, her neighbor in the room next to her smiled at us really
big. While we were visiting with the investigator´s sister, the nurse came
in and so we went to say hi to the neighbor and she turned out to be a
member! She lives in La Jorge so no missionaries ever go visit her and
she´s the only member in her family and so when we went to see her, she was so,
so happy. We visited for awhile and then during her prayer she started
crying and giving thanks to Heavenly Father so much for sending the missionaries
to her. It was interesting because I felt like we should go to the
hospital but didn´t even see the lady and Hna. VM didn´t really care too much
about going to the hospital but was praying for a chance to talk to that
lady. Heavenly Father really helps us out to do the things we need to
do. Being in a companionship is the best thing ever. I do´n´t even
remember what it´s like to go somewhere yourself. Haha. But that
experience was really tender. It reminded me of that story that President
Monson told of going to visit a lady in the hospital and then felt impressed to
visit with the lady in the other bed even though the blanket was over her head
and the lady was so happy because she thought President Monson had come to visit
her! I love feeling like we really are following the spirit and getting
the Lord´s work done.
I lovethe quote ¨There is an incredible amount of
work to be done¨ by Elder Scott. Totally motivated me this week.
It´s so true. We forget sometimes because we feel like the same places are
being tracted over and over, but like Elder Scott says- there is SO much to
do!
Love you all!

P.S: Chilean hospitals- not crazy bad or anything like you would expect
in the jungle or in a third world country, but you can pretty much just walk
in. We go to the front and ask where a certain name is and they just tell
us and let us walk in. The first time we were lost and we accidenty just
walked into a room with like 10 patients. That´s another thing- they have
a big room and there are about 10 beds in each room. I feel really sorry
for everyone. Not everything is like that- some people have their own
rooms, but it´s pretty crazy overall.
