Hi! I am so tired. We just got back from a day trip to Lago Chungará (I think that´s how you spell it anway... I got pretty wasted from the atitude. I didn´t throw up like a couple of the elders, but I was definitely the first to have to lay on the ground. Haha. It was 4.500 meters above sea level. When we got out of the car we had to walk like we were on the moon for awhile until we could get ourselves adjusted. It was fun but was freezing and we got real sick and it was about 4-5 hours of driving there and then back. But I´ll never get to go there again so I´m glad we went. Some other interesting things from the week: So everyone has always talked about how Peru and Chile are ready at all times to go to war for some sea territory that Chile won from Peru a looong time ago. Peru has officially sent in some thing that reclaims it, and the result will be given on the 27th of January. So everyone is pretty obsessed with that right now. I really don{t think anything will actually happen, because everyone always says something is going to happen and then it never does, but it´s a hot topic here. So you never know, we could be going to war! We had some pretty cool lessons this week. One of them was in a pitch black patio where we had to light candles to be able to teach. Both of the women have a ton of questions about the truthfulness of everything we teach, but won´t take the step to ask God about it. One of them already is a member and the other has gone to church a few times and likes it but has had a lot of struggle actually asking God. The spirit was really strong in the lesson, but we haven´t seen them in a couple days, so we´ll see if they actually decided to do it. Another of the lessons was with the mother of a recent convert. She has soooooooo many problems in her life, but hopefully we can help her sort them all out. New Years was pretty low key. We had a bunch of invatations but at the last minute every single one cancelled, so we ended up having to go back to the apartment early since PResident didn´t want us staying out. We just played games and then watched the fireworks from out window and then went to bed. They also have this weird tradition here where they burn doll things with all their old clothes, things that say you have to pay gas, lights etc, calendars etc... It´s pretty weird. We went and cleaned it all up the next morning since we figured no one would let us in. The traditions here are pretty crazy. Even the church had a giant citywise activity that started at ONE AM. Everyone kept asking if we were going. Yeah right. Anyway, I love you all! Hope everything is going well!Love,Hermana Catron
