HAPPY ONE YEAR TO ME!!!
It´s sooo weird to think that I have a year in the mission!
It was a pretty weird week because I had the FLU and then Carranza got sick
too so we didn´t get to work very much. Tuesday I was out
all day with the flu and fevers, then Wednesday was a conference with Elder Soares and Elder
Zeballos, and then Thursday Carranza
was sick. So we really only had three days to work this week. I wish
I could report tons of spiritual things that I learned while I was sick, but it
was really a rather boring experience because I didn´t have enough energy to
read and that´s about all there is to do. Haha. :) When I was
finally able to read again, I was so happy because I had really really missed
reading from the Book of Mormon. I love that book so much!
I just realized I went through all the points that I had written down to
talk about. Osvaldo comes back from the mines today, so we´re really
excited to see how it went and keep working with him.
One thing that REALLY stuck out to me in my personal study this week was
how important this life is. Once we leave this life, we are going to have
such a hard time without our bodies. It will be so much harder to change
and to give up the habits that we have. I always always think about a
quote from Elder Eyring from May 2012. He was quoting a woman who after
many years of being bused, was able to forgive her abuser. He asked her
how she was able to do it and she said, ¨It was the hardest
thing I´ve ever done, but I knew I had to do it, so I did¨
We are like this woman at times. If we want to feel comfortable in
the presence of God, we KNOW there are a lot of things that we have to change.
And while it may be the hardest thing we will have to do, we know we will
have to change evenutally, so we must JUST DO IT. Thank you
Nike. Life is too precious to waste. We taught a lesson to a couple
girls the other day taht were the fulfilment of the prophecy ¨and
there shall be many which shall say: aEat,
drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die; and it shall be well with
us¨. At one point I asked them what they thought living with
God would be like and they said ¨I think God is a live and let live kind of
guy.¨ We are so blessed that we know that living with our Heavenly Father
will be SO much more than that. We must share this knowledge with all the
souls of the Earth. I love this gospel and I know it is true. I love
you all!
