Hey! It was good to see you all yesterday!
Life is good this week. I got my kid on Wednesday and she is great.
Her name is Hermana Rindlisbacher from Utah and we are having fun being
two gringas walking around Chile not really speaking much spanish. :)
She´s not afraid to speak to people though so that has been awesome.
We had zone conference on Saturday and it was super, super great. I
learned a ton- how to work with references, how to work with lists, how to make
contacts better, and some cool stuff about the creation and the story of Ammon
and King Lamoni. Also, one of the new assistants was my zone leader in
Iquique and he came up and told me all about how my converts up there were doing
great. Such a good feeling when that happens.
We also had a ward activity on Friday for Mother´s day and it went over so
well! There were a lot of investigators and people who aren´t active in
the church. Also cool is that we really wanted this old lady who was
one of the first member in Copiapó to come even though she hasn´t been to church
in a long time (on account of her oldness and her non-member husband) and so we
went over in the morning with this cute invitation that the YSA had made and
told her we would come pick her up at 7:45. She was so excited and it was adorable to
see. However, when we went back she was already gone and her husband said
that ¨some hermano had already come and picked her up.¨ We thought he was lying
and so we were super sad but when we got there, she was sitting there looking so
cute! The bishop had gone and picked her up. I was so happy.
We officially divided the sector and we have seen a lot of blessings from
it! One of them is that we are not nearly as tired now because we (by the
flip of the coin) got the sector closer to the house. Also, Joglar and I
had very few progressing investigators and the other sisters had very few
progressing investigators but when we put them all together and split them down
the sector lines, all the sudden both companionships have a good amount to work
with! Hopefully that will lead to a good number of baptisms this month and next!
Our mission has a goal of 670 baptisms by July 1st- the day
our President leaves. His first year as President of the MCA, there were
only 662 baptisms the entire year! so we want to send him off showing him
how grateful we are for helping us all have the Vision to Baptize. We´re a
little behind on the goal right now and so we have all got to work hard to find
the people who are ready to make those covenants with God. They´re out
there!!
I love this gospel. I love this mission. I am so grateful to be
in this mission with these leaders right now. I can´t even imagine it any
other way. The atonement of Jesus Christ is real and He wants so much for
all His brothers and sisters to become His children by making the covenant of
baptisms. He wants them to be forgiven and made clean. Siga haciendo
la obra misional!
