Oh hey. So the biggest news of the week is that we have had nonstop earthqukes. They´ve been like tremors but we´ve been having them a toooon. It´s been pretty cool but you also feel dizzy afterwards. I can never figure out when they end because I still feel like I´m on a boat after they finish. This week seemed really short to me. We are improving a lot when it comes to working with members. One of the elders in our ward has a lot of experience putting together ward activities so it´s been awesome. On monday we had a FHE with Jacquelin, a family (the husband got baptized on saturday) and a member of the bishopric. It was really great. Jacqui has gone to this ward or about 9 months now but we still have this conversation all the time:Us: ¨.... jacquelin.¨Them: ¨who??¨Us: ¨Jacquelin! The lady who has the eye patch!¨ Them: ¨oooooh¨So we´ve been working on that and it´s been going really well. Jacqui is going to be an amazing member because she is already such a good missionary.
On thursday we finally got to meet with the dad of Jacui´s kids. He went to Lima for about 2 weeks so we weren´t sure how he was doing. Turns out since the Restauration pamphlet was the only source of religious reading that he had, he would read from it every single day and now has a super strong tesitmony of prayer. He taught his family in Lima to pray and says that his ¨wife¨ has really noticed a diffference in him. He thanked us so much for having taught him a little about the church, and he accepted a fecha for the 19th o April. We will see though because he would need to get married to his ¨wife¨ in Peru. He wants her to come to Arica, which would be awesome, except for that then we would have...
Patricia, who is the ex-wife of Julio, who is the ex-partner of Jaquelin, who is the ex- partner of Elmer, who has a new wife. Patricia and Julio have a kid together who is in the ward too, and Patricia also has her two daughters from a diferent marriage who are getting baptized in april. Jacqui and Elmer have kids together but Elmer and his wife also have kids together. Right now Jaqui and Elmer´s oldest kid lives with Elmer´s wife in Lima. And all these people go (or correspond to) ARICA CENTRO.Crazy right? You all probaly didn´t even understand all of that, it´s so tangled up. But they all love the gospel!
On thursday we had a zone conference, which ended up being awesome. We are oficilly not allowed to knock doors but because the church has a really good relationship with chile, they have allowed us some pretty legit access into their systems so that we can find all the people who have unknown addresses. More than 50% of the members in Chile have unknown addresses, so this is going to be an awesome RESCATE. This is a really awesome time to be in the Mission Chile Antofagasta. I´m pretty stoked.
On Friday we had the ward activity ¨Lehi´s dream.¨ We spent all day preparing for it and it went really well. Well, basically nobody in the ward went, but a ton of investigators did, so that was good. I will attach photos.
This week we are going to push even harder to work with member and help our investigators accept a baptisimal date. They are reeady!Love you all1
