As an aside (from me - Chrissy's mom) we didn't really get much of an email last week. She was in a trio and they sounded super busy.
Oh hey family!
First, the explanation for the lack of pictures AGAIN. Once upon a time I went to the office so that they could fix my card. After a office elder switched the fotos from one card to the other, I went merrily on my way and was excited to finally be able to send fotos again because I have some great ones to send. When I turned on my camera to show someone a picture, it turns out that there was NOTHING on the card. At all. I called the office and pleaded with the elder to not delete the pictures on the computer and he assures me that they are still there. I really hope that he´s not lying to me...
This week was a super great week! At the cambios, they reduced the amount of missionaries in my ward from 6 to 4, so our sector just got a whooole lot bigger. In fact, we never have enough time to do everything we have planned slash want to do. There´s a part of our sector that we´ve been to like 2 times in the last 2 weeks because we are always runnning around. It´s an AWESOME feeling, but it´s starting to get a little worrisome and so we´re trying to find people in the ward to go out with us so we can get twice the work done in the same day. President wants us to find a new investigator or family every day and so if we´re constantly running out of time to visit all our investigators, either we´re not going to have enough time to find or our less active members are going to get pushed to the side, and we don´t want either of those things to happen... But it´s way cool to have a lot to do!
In fact, we´ve seen some great miracles this week! One investigator that the elders left behind is awesome and is completely ready to get baptized. We put a fecha with him for the 28th of September, but after the conference today with President we might have to postpone it because the mom is not completely active yet. So pray that everything goes well with him, Salomón, and his mom, Silvia, who is recently coming back to church after a loooong time. He´s an awesome kid, and an Angamos miracle!
Our other miracle of the week is a man named Rolando. He called SLC several months ago so that missionaries would come by his house and although Nuñez tried for a long time to contact him, they could never find and teach him. However, last saturday we had a bunch of citas and I remember thinking, ^there is NO WAY we´re going to be able to get to all of these citas¨ and they all fell through. Every single one of them. So we thought, okay, this is not where God wants us to be right now. We went to the Coviefi (the part that´s kind of far away so we don´t go there as much as we should) and were kind of at a loss of what to do when we decided to try that reference again. We went and found Rolando! He is totally receptive and said he wanted to get baptized from the very first appointment. He´s a great investigator, but I know we haven´t figured out everything yet with him- there´s something else we´re missing, and so prayers will be appreciated for him too. His fecha is for the 12th of October. Another ANGAMOS MIRACLE! We´re really excited with how the work has been going here.
We had a ward activity on Saturday that was great! I´ve never really liked the native dances of countries, and whenever I´ve seen the Cueca (the native dance of Chile), I havent´ really ever felt anything for it, but on Saturday the ward put on Cueca music and I just loved it so much. I love how everyone knows it so they can all dance together. It´s a requirement that they all have to dance to it every year that they´re in school, so they really all know it. Pretty rad.
Our pet rad died this week. That was also an Angamos miracle, because we did absolutely nothing to kill it. We put some rat poison out like 2 weeks ago and it disappeared super fast but the dumb thing didn´t die. So then we just gave up and prayed that it would go really far away. On Saturday I woke up and was washing all the dishes when I looked down and the rat had died right by the broom. How bakan is that? Prayers are answered people!
We´re also working with another family that really needs the gospel and are on the brink of progressing a ton but Satan is working really hard to prevent that. So prayers for Fabiola and Cesar and their children would be awesome!
Anyway, I love you all! HAPPY 18TH OF SEPTEMBER! We´re going to party this week, in a very missionary way. :) President gave us tomorrow as a medio pday too since we had a conference today. Woohoo!
LOVE YOU!
